Mihail Chemiakin (SOVIET UNION / RUSSIAN FEDERATION / UNITED STATES / NEW YORK, born 1943) Nonconformist surreal painted wooden bust sculpture depicting Tsar Paul I. He is depicted in a surreal design with elongatedand hooked nose. Imperial monogram seen to epaulettes. From the "Carnival at St. Petersburg" series. Measures approx. 28 1/2" height x 17 1/2" width x 22" depth (72.4cm x 44.5cm x 55.8cm). Provenance: Acquiredfrom a New York / Ocean Drive, Florida estate. Includes Certificate of Authenticity and appraisal from Bowles, Sorokko, Yarger Fine Art showing an appraised value of $35,000.00 dated July 23rd, 1996.
