Chinese Ming Dynasty blue and white porcelain Jar. Sturdy porcelain jar with robust shoulder region curving into a feminine waist that extends all the way to the bottom forming the raised circular base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the cobalt blue fine color. The main body delicately with abundant Pomegranate fruit ripe interspersed with fresh foliage, above cresting wavy Lishui water. Pomegranate is known as the fruit of happiness for its red color and is a symbol of plentiful offspring for its many seeds. Because the pomegranate is full of juicy seeds, it symbolizes fertility in Feng Shui, and it is used as a Feng Shui fertility cure. Pomegranate also symbolizes happiness in the family, as well as good luck for one's descendants. The Daoist attribute to it the same power as the peach of immortality.
