此器形貌优雅，老赭紫泥质色温润、沉稳，胎质细腻而紧结，小笠帽极纤巧可爱，壶盖平压于壶口，圆珠钮，圆起而气韵下收，身稳肩柔，微显丰腴，高身壶体圆转周正。笠帽形壶盖板沿宽厚，与壶口密合，壶流上翘，流口小巧，壶把扣于壶身，气势挺拔，制作工艺精湛。此笠帽壶犹如明代儒生，头戴笠帽，两袖清风，纵情山水，朴素为上，古意盎然，于素雅中彰显砂壶的肌理之美，以不尚奇巧为能事，符合古今审美，赏用皆宜。
