此壶选料精良，紫泥材质温润细腻，砂土极具有时代气息。圆口平盖，压盖微穹，扁珠圆钮，短直流自然胥出，扁腹饱满圆润，圈把环扣有力，为典型的清早期工艺特征，下承圈足，足内落“子畦制”篆书方款。整器造型规矩雅正，于古朴雅致之中又流露富丽之美，实用与玩赏兼备，诚属佳器也。陈子畦，明朝天启至清康熙间（约1625－1690）人，作壶为时所珍，或云即陈鸣远之父。以善仿徐友泉著称，所制贴玉兰树段壶、南瓜壶，并有水洗、水滴、残荷湖蟹、瑞兽等传世，为明末清初的紫砂名家。清人吴骞《阳羡名陶录·家溯》：“陈子畦， 仿徐最佳，为时所珍。或云即鸣远父。”旧配包装及供盒。
