唇口微侈，口沿对饰双冲耳，斜颈微束，折肩弯折处饰弦纹一道，弧腹下缓收，平底承三外撇戈足，底心部开框铸刻“大明宣德年制”六字楷书款。通体包浆朗润，皮色蟹青黄润，又有点点褐斑散落其上，别有一番韵味。此炉形体扁圆规整，所饰冲耳比例较大，线条圆润粗韧，环扣有力，与方折的肩部及外撇的戈形尖足对比鲜明，更显器物挺拔之姿，神采奕奕。冲天耳又称“朝天耳”俗称“冲耳”，此式耳多用于搭配乳足炉，为宣炉中颇具盛名的器型，而本件小炉别出心裁，线条圆中寓方，并承以三戈足，予人耳目一新之感，可见匠心。
