A SILVER THAI BOTTLE Thailand, late 19th century Of pyriform shape, resting on a splayed foot, rising to a tapering cylindrical neck, ending in a circular mouth, a high-tiered knob as stopper, the body engraved and repoussed with roundels filled with elephants and mythical creatures such as himavanta, dragon and qilin against a lush vegetal ground, more foliage and vegetal tendrils in the space between the roundels, Buddhist conch shells and Zodiac signs in rectangular cartouches at the base of the neck, flame design bands throughout the neck, the stopper modelled as a stylised lotus flower, 32.3cm high.
