A FINE PART SILK TEHERAN CARPET, NORTH PERSIA approx: 11ft.2in. x 6ft.7in.(339cm. x 231cm.) Beautiful quality carpet with superb kurk wool, very soft and lustrous, together with part silk on filed and border design. The light beige field with scrolling arabesques linking mythical faces together with stylised palmettes and delicate scrolling floral tendrils. All enclosing a light blue floral and bird medallion. In similar design border between floral and plain stripes. Ends with short fringes, secured, Selvages original. In general this carpet is in very good condition throughout. Fine weave, approx: 7 x 6 knots per sq. cm. Great example for this type. Very attractive.
