AN ANTIQUE BALOUCH PRAYER RUG, NORTH-EAST PERSIA approx: 5ft.1in. x 4ft.4in.(155cm. x 132cm.) Very good type unusual and seldom found in the sales. The field has some wear extending to side borders. Black is slightly corroded. Selvages rebound in parts. Ends with original kilim slightly fraying. Couple of old reweaves towards one end. Nicely drawn design with rows of hooked panels. Rosette mihrab with pendants above. This type is called Dohtar Ghazi (judge's daughter). This rug still retains the elegance.
