Chinese 19 Century Qing Dynasty Carved & Pierced Bamboo Skin Rectangular Plaque in an intricate design of Luxing and 2 Guardian Figures, 2 boys rolling out a handscroll with calligraphy, the background a profusion of birds and flowers with a border of auspicious objects, flowers, and butterfly corners; now mounted over a hardwood backing and with a small hanger to top edge. Age related wear to bamboo with a few small shrinkage cracks, one short side with slight warp along seam, a few very small losses. Height 7 1/2 inches (19 cm.) X width 13 1/4 inches (33.5 cm.).
