By Makuzu Kozan, Meiji (1868-1912) or Taisho (1912-1926) era, early 20th centuryThe first with tall cylindrical neck with a peach-bloom glaze graduating to grey and decorated in resist with eight huddled egrets, signed on the base in underglaze blue Makuzu gama Kozan sei, 37.5cm (14¾in) high; the second also of baluster form, similarly painted and decorated with a continuous band of numerous egrets, signed on the base in underglaze blue Makuzu gama Kozan sei; 21.9cm (8 5/8in) high.
