Song/Jin dynastyEach potted with gently flared sides, supported on a short foot, covered with a layer of white slip and a glossy transparent glaze stopping short of the base to reveal the pale buff body, the interior of the larger vibrantly painted in red and green enamels with a peony blossom and leaves, enclosed within a band of semi-florets; the smaller decorated with a duck and flowering aquatic plant; the interiors of both with remnants of spur marks. The larger 6 1/4in (15.8cm) diam. (2).
