A DINGYAO INCISED 'LOTUS' DISH


Northern Song/Jin dynastyPotted with shallow curved sides supported on a short foot, the interior finely and freely incised with a medallion enclosing a leafy lotus spray, encircled by six lines radiating outwards towards the notched metal-bound rim, covered overall with an ivory-white glaze. 6 1/2in (16.7cm) diam.

A similar example, dated to the Jin period, was included in the exhibition Decorated Porcelains of Dinzhou: White Ding wares from the collection of the National Palace Museum (Taipei, 2014), II-38, p. 83.
