|瑞兽形象在明清两代宫廷多有制作，此香熏的瑞兽形取狻猊，在中国神话传说中为龙生九子之一，形似狮子，生性喜静不喜动，好坐，喜烟火，故其形象多出现在香炉上，常见其吞云吐雾。此件狻猊昂首坐伏，身型健硕，强悍雄壮。出烟的口部大开，双眼圆睁，威严有神。细节部分毛发刻画极尽细致，并于胸前及身两侧饰火焰纹。兽首为炉盖，与身部以铰链相连，设计制作精巧。包浆浑厚深沉，形制古朴，是香熏中的精品。
