|刘海蟾，名操，字宗成，又字昭元、昭远，道号海蟾子。后人俗称刘海。五代十国时期广阳人，著名道教祖师，全真道五阳祖师之一。刘海是道教传说中的神仙，曾入朝为官，后挂冠求去、散财求道。传说其亲人为官甚贪，但因礼佛修道，死后未被贬入地狱，而是化作金蟾投入东海之中。刘海得道后，欲解救金蟾，便以一串金钱钓之出海，负于肩上，是为“刘海戏金蟾”，而金蟾走一步能吐一枚铜钱，因此有求财祈福，财源广进之美好寓意。此作品取竹根圆雕而成，雕刘海坦腹趺坐于一扫着之上，右手持扫着尾端，左手持一铜钱，戏引股侧金蟾。刀法简洁到位，劲力深厚，人物面容饱满丰腴，笑容神情一派纵逸。作品整体造型简而意趣丰，包浆莹润古朴，天真烂漫实为难得。
