A Chinese Huanghuali box dating from the 18th century. There is a tray insert inside the box, a brass ruyi handle on either side, and a brass ruyi latch on the front. Dimensions are: 8 1/2 inches tall X 17inches wide X 9 7/8 inches deep. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There are small splits in the wood in the corners of the top and bottom, and oxidation of the metal to the hinges on the back.
