An inside-painted glass snuff bottle


Ma Shaoxuan, 1897One side painted with a humble-looking man in patched clothing, holding a long stick in his left hand and gazing at a large blooming peony plant in a pot, the top titled in reference to the depicted scene, with one seal, the reverse inscribed with a poem, dated dingyou chun ri (spring of 1897), signed Ma Shaoxuan and followed with an additional seal mark. 2 3/8in (6cm) high
