以椰壳为质，椰壳色泽沉郁古香，古朴雅致，呈现清幽静谧之态。壶身一面雕刻汉瓦当博古纹，并刻书。雕刻手法老道。另一面雕“王作宫乐”，“甲戌冬仲友石作”。书法古朴，苍劲有力，可见雕刻技法之高超，堪称佳作。椰壳雕是一种将椰壳制成器的传统技艺，其历史可追溯到唐代。传说椰杯盛酒，如是毒酒辄沸起，甚至椰杯自行爆炸，所以用椰壳器皿盛食物，以椰壳制成酒杯，曾风靡于一时。明清时期，椰壳除用制器外，亦始用椰壳制工艺品，做工精致华美，或于内层镶嵌锡、银、铜饰，亦或镶嵌檀香木纹，皆为贡品，故有“天南贡品”之称。椰壳烟壶盛行于清末民初。此件椰壳鼻烟壶做工细腻，形制古雅端庄，纹饰文人气息浓厚，颇具收藏价值。
