本品为圆口蔗段式，口底相若。通体髤黑漆，因年代既久，器表包浆沉厚，光润细腻。盖面以嵌金工艺绘爵杯如意，又嵌螺钿饰折枝牡丹。侧面则戗金饰圆环纹。整器纹饰典雅简洁。运用多种嵌刻工艺，做工精致考究，黑漆色泽典雅庄重，间配以金箔螺钿装饰，色彩变化多样，绚丽斑斓，于古朴器型之间呈现优雅富贵之态。且因金箔螺钿极易脱落，它保存的如此完整亦是极为罕见。
