作者简介：吴小仙(1459-1508)，名伟，字次翁，江夏(今湖北武汉)人，明代著名画家。画院待诏，孝宗时授锦衣卫百户及赐“画状元”的图章。龆龄流落至海虞(今江苏常熟)，收养于钱昕家，伴其子读，时窃弄笔墨，画山水人物之状，钱见而奇之，曰：“若作画工耶？”即与笔札厚给养之。弱冠至金陵画名遂起。
