以和田青花玉料为材，黑白相间意境美妙，一面留皮巧雕。器呈马鞍形，内外壁打磨光滑，光素无纹，整体厚实饱满，纯以材质为美。扳指，又称“班指”，盛行于清，当与满人善骑射不无关系。本意是射箭时将其用佩戴于拇指之上以防伤手，后逐渐从实用物演变成装饰物，并成为身份地位的象征。
