Corinthian, Late Corinthian ca. 550 - 450 B.C. Beige clay, cream coating, brown and red matt glaze.
Dm. max. 5 25/64 in; 13.7 cm
Flat, round vessel with a rim that curves into the vessel and a loop-shaped strap handle on a flat base ring. Fine lines and dotted frieze around the opening, more lines on the belly. Broad concentric stripes inside the vessel and on the bottom. The Corinthian version of these vessels were widespread and is mainly attested in sanctuaries.
Intact with slight wear on the vessel belly and foot; slip and glaze slightly abraded.
Formerly priv. coll. Prof. A., Basel, acquired September 1975. Thence by descent in the family.
