镌文：“划太古石，作艺苑田。珍于席上，结翰墨缘。”“王⬜铭”
砚台随形，色呈青灰，缘边起伏律动自然，砚堂砚池一体，砚背覆手处雕刻松枝纹，枝干于一册生出，遒劲有力，纹理与随形端石浑然天成，其上松针簇簇。
侧面刻诗文“划太古石，作艺苑田。珍于席上，结翰墨缘。”、“王⬜铭”。
端石产于端州（今广东肇庆），古人有诗赞曰：“端州砚工巧如神，踏天磨刀割紫云”。此砚温润而有光泽，墨海工整和谐，图案布局自然有序，细部雕刻大气磅礴，整体自出机杼，给人以一种空灵、祥和的感觉。整器质坚耐磨，抚若童肌，发墨不损毫，书写流利生辉，且雕琢精美。
