本品为脱胎漆器，主体部分髹黄褐色漆，金光隐韵，远观又似黄铜精铸，实为匠心独具之品。香盘主体作佛手形，花口，浅腹。挺拔的蒂部分出枝桠，向下蔓延支撑，交相缠绕，其上小佛手果生出，巧为盘座，蕴气温醇，章法得体，无不表现出清代漆器技艺的巧夺天工之妙。
脱胎漆器始于南宋，其质地固轻巧装饰精细，色泽鲜艳，结实耐用，具有独特的民族风格和浓厚的地方特色，其特点是质轻、坚韧、历久不溃且易于造型，径过长时间色彩依然亮丽，是脱胎漆器的特色。福州脱胎漆器，与北京的景泰蓝，江西景德镇的瓷器并誉为中国传统工艺的“三宝”。
