作者简介：蔡元培(1867-1940),浙江绍兴人。绪十五、十六年(1889、1890)连中举人、进士。授翰林院编修。1905年加入同盟会，其后留学德国。辛亥革命后回上海，任南京临时政府教育总长。后再次赴德，又往法国，与李石曾等创办留法勤工俭学会。1916年底回国，次年出任北京大学校长。后被选为国民党中央监察委员。1927年后任南京政府大学院院长、中央研究院院长、监察院长等职。工诗文，善书法。
