作者简介：蔡铣（1897-1960），名铣，字振渊、震渊。因家藏玉蝉砚，别署玉蝉砚主，榜其画室名为玉蝉砚斋。苏州人。蔡铣七岁读书，十二岁爱好丹青，十五岁从父学医，十九岁从画家汪云奇学翎毛花卉、瓜果走兽，从李醉石学山水，从陈靖生学仕女。其作国画，以工笔著称。线条挺秀，落笔细腻，用墨得法，设色妍艳，极有富贵气息。双钩竹菊，累叶迭蕊，纷而不乱。填金仕女，着色敷彩，匀适精丽。故而虽一扇之微，动辄也要若干天。画猴、画松鼠，是其独到之笔，人戏呼他为“蔡猢狲”或“蔡松鼠”。画人物，背摹费晓楼、姜晓泉作品，也得神韵。书法能楷、行，有恽南田韵味。
