A Victorian Regimental presentation silver inkstand, John Newton Mappin, London, 1892,of rectangular form, on winged paw feet, with Regimental arms to the lid, two cut glass wells and inscription, 'Presented to/Major H.Everard by Officers Past and Present/of the 29th (Worcestershire) Regiment/in Appreciation of his Labours/inpiling and Publishing/The History of The Regiment', 34.8cm, 53.4oz.Provenance: The history of the 29th Foot (Worcestershire) Regiment was written by the then Lieutenant H. Everard and covered the period from 1693 to 1891. The original book was dedicated to Queen Victoria.
