A pair of famille verte plates with boys-patternKangxi period, ca. 1700, China, Provenance: Property of a Dutch noble family.- acquired at Aronson Antiquairs, Amsterdam, August 1993, Two shallow dishes with fluted edging showing a central lotus roundel within a red-ground band containing swastika's and other Buddhist emblems, surrounded by a very wide inner border containing alternating floral scenes and boys holding a lotus flower. Not marked.D 21.3 cm, Rim chips and one with a small hairline. No other damage or restoration.
