拍品丰肩，敛腹，卧足，线条流畅优美，造型浑圆可爱。罐通体以青花为饰，腹部通景绘四妃十六子图，仕女或手持萱草，或怀抱孩童，面含微笑，童子三五成群，嬉戏玩耍，周围以琴桌、古琴、栏杆、蕉叶相衬。画面布局错落有致，青花发色艳丽，时代特征明显。
四妃十六子典出宋高承《事物纪原·帝王后妃·四妃》“三代有夫人而无妃号，汉有贵人，魏始置妃，此夫人号妃之始也。唐初皇后而降，有贵、淑、德、贤，是为四妃也。”康熙初年，百业待兴，瓷器的画面上较多地出现了仕女婴戏的纹饰，仕女手中所持的萱草又称“宜男草”，细微之中表达了人们祈求人丁兴旺的美好愿望。
