The inside of the box cover inscribed 大正八年東江己未の秋晚竹邨士静題署 ('An autumn evening in the year jiwei, 8th year of Shōwa [1919], at Agarie, inscribed by Shisei followed by two undeciphered seals of the collector.There is a further protective cardboard cover for the lid, all contained within a cardboard slip-cover, inscribed in regular script Ming zhu Xihuang shanshui diao chaliang 明竹希黃山水彫茶量 ('Ming dynasty bamboo landscape-carved tea measure by Xihuang'), the side of the box with a small label numbered 440 with a brief description of the content. With two separate sheets of paper included in the box, one in running script written over three seals, one of which reads jia zheng 賈証 ('Certificate of transaction'), another reads 大阪商盛組總合企業 ('Ōsakamerce Flourishes Group Integrated Enterprise') with overwritten above and below: 九十万円. The signature on the receipt is 清村, a Japanese surname that can be read Kyomura, Shimura, or Seimura.Thispany's current name is 大阪美術倶楽部 ('Ōsaka Arts Club') and it celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2010. Thepany changed its name to 大阪商盛組總合企業 'Ōsakamerce Flourishes Group Integrated Enterprise' in 1961, so the receipt is presumably for a transaction after that date. The other two seals are probably dealer's seals, the larger square one written over with Zhang Xihuang shanshui diao chaliang 希黃山水彫茶量 ('Landscape carved tea scoop by Xihuang'), the smaller sheet hand written with a pen, 明張希黃, 雕留青山水臂擱.
