笔筒呈直筒形，圈足，足底有“仙源陈国治作”阳文刻款，字体清秀有力。笔筒素静，瓷质细腻润泽。外壁浮雕八匹骏马，在柳林边仰鬃翻蹄，甩头摆尾，觅食嬉戏，其形其姿，栩栩如生。所刻骏马以黑彩点睛，神采动人，而山石、垂柳、小草均雕刻得当，为一幅早春时节的生动图画。筒壁构图疏朗，为文房佳作。 陈国治，安徽祁门人，道光至咸丰年间景德镇雕瓷名手，他善于在瓷板上雕刻花卉，深浅适度，富有画意。他还将瓷雕与釉色相结合，仿竹木、象牙器，无不神形俱备。其作品有别于普通工匠的瓷雕，而将文人的艺术精神融入当中。此件笔筒艺术气息浓厚，于精细中绕有画意，为陈国治瓷雕的精心之作。款识:“仙源陈国治作”款
