这件为元青花凤穿牡丹梅瓶，器型规整，运用镂空雕工艺，器身绘分穿牡丹纹。梅瓶是古陶瓷收藏中的经典器型，最早出现在唐代，是盛酒的酒器，宋金时期器型增多且瓶体修长，被称为“经瓶”。历朝历代的梅瓶都是小口、短颈、丰肩与瘦底，只是在肩部与瓶底有所不同。由于器型挺秀、俏丽，又因小口，明朝的文人将其比作只插一枝梅的梅瓶，从此这一名称一直沿用至今。
