Two likely Bass Otis (American 1784-4861), untitled, circa 1825, oil on wooden panel, bust length portraits of a husband and wife in the manner of Thomas Sully (British/American 1783-1872), the portrait of the husband with paper label en verso reading "4 Nov. 1825/Bass Otis of Philadea (illegible) for two/Portraits - (illegible) of Theo Irvin L/ + wife" with an additional notation of a bequest of the portrait(s), the flaps of one envelope engraved "Baltimore, Maryland", otherwise apparently unsigned, both in giltwood andposition frames.
