本品为仿商周青铜器豆之形制烧造，豆在古时为礼器，可盛五谷用于祭祀，该器，通体施霁蓝釉，盖顶塑宝珠钮，釉色湛蓝，釉面莹润，高圈足内书嘉荫堂斋古山人造单行楷书款，据耿宝昌《明清瓷器鉴定》一书中将"嘉荫堂斋谷山人造"款识定位嘉庆道光时期重要堂名款识。而具考，嘉荫堂为沈阳故宫中的一组综合建筑，相应嘉荫堂款瓷器为道光皇帝御用器。因此，斋谷山人与清中期皇室密切相关。今见有斋谷山人款识器物多为以瓷仿青铜礼器，此件器物即为斋谷山人殊为复杂之器，器物仿春秋青铜豆，造型饱满，工艺复杂，为重要瓷质庙堂仿古礼器之一。
