Provenance:Estate of Yip Hon (1904-1997). Nicknamed Kwai Wong (translated as Ghost King), Yip Hon was a gambling tycoon in South China. He a amassed great wealth in the casinos there, through his technique of listening dice, eventually opening his own casino.

英文长介绍:This pair of flared mouth bowls perched on a high foot rim covered in a brilliant-white ground dates to the Daoguang period. Vibrant motifs of bitter gourds, bamboo, butterflies, and naturalistic flora contrast vividly against this white ground of the interior and exterior. Used not only for their beauty, these designs connote a thriving lineage and are common decoration of Daoguang period porcelain. The motifs themselves are intricately rendered; their placement skillfully balanced within the spacious composition. The famille rose technique popular during the Daoguang period was perhaps not as refined as that of the Yongzheng period, but it retains its own unique charm. Flowers scrolling throughout are painted in the traditional boneless style, emphasizing the interplay of light and shadow and creating a naturalistic and layering effect. Their soft and elegant colors further heighten the motif's three-dimensional quality. The underside of each bowl bears a blue and white Daoguang six-character seal mark. The pair is accompanied by their own original silk-lined box in impeccable condition, making this lot a superb artifact of Daoguang imperial kiln in every facet of its presentation.

中文长介绍:本品侈口圈足，白釉溫潤細膩，碗壁內外過墻繪賴瓜、竹、蝴蝶等紋飾，寓意「瓜瓞綿綿」，即祝頌子孫、繁衍不息之吉利話。畫面清新，色鮮靚麗，構圖疏朗，為道光時期瓷器上常用的喜慶圖案。底部書「大清道光年製」青花六字篆書款。道光粉彩雖不及雍正時期細膩，但也頗有韻致。內外壁所繪花卉，采用中國傳統繪畫中的沒骨法技法，突出陰陽向背，層次清晰，色彩柔和淡雅，富有立體效果。本品成對且配有原配錦盒，保存完美，堪為道光官窯之精品。
