笔筒为青白玉质，玉质莹润细腻，整体造型自然随形作中空的筒形，外壁依形下刀，比例匀称，内壁光滑，采用深浮雕技法在外壁雕琢松桩，阴刻等手法琢通景。苍松挺秀，遒劲有力，松针若轮，似临风而立。古松下一位细目长髯高士依杆而坐，手持书卷，抬头仰望，若有所思。整体造型典雅，纹饰精美，不失为文房珍品。
