款识：莳园 经典的马槽炉制式，原铜包浆，年久温养，为自然天成之腊茶色，赤色蕴黄，洁银藏紫，赤铜也。整体线条平直，棱角分明，充分体现出马槽炉方正耿直之精神。底錾“莳园”私款，契合“马槽多私款，私款多佳器”之说。 一般宣炉均取“天圆”，唯马槽炉则依“地方”，恰为宣炉一族添了阴阳平衡。文房之炉，多细精小，马槽之炉，历来为文人崇尚。而其中品质精工者耗费颇奢，多为官宦富贵人家的定造之物。
