(5) Piece Suit, with the label of L & H Nathan, Court & Theatre Costumiers, Piccadilly, London and originally the property of wealthy American architectural designer and benefactor Edward Francis Searles (1841-1920), in blue velvet and velveteen fabric and lined in cream satin, silver buttons, including tailcoat, (2) vests, knee britches, bicorne hat, and cased jeweled shoe buckle set, tailcoat: 38" chest, vest: 19" long, 36" chest, vest 2: 40" chest, knee britches: 30" long, 36" waist. Generally good condition, minor stitching repairs needed to tailcoat and knee britches; one shoe buckle needs center replacement, buckle box lid detached. Lot apanied by an image of Mr. Searles wearing this suit.Provenance: From the vintage clothing collection of Edward Francis Searles (1841-1920).
