(3) Piece Turkish Gent's Ensemble, consisting of floor length coat, vest (yelek), and chalvar (loose, baggy trousers), in dark blue wool with black soutache braid trim, and monkey's fist buttons, all pieces lined in cream muslin, coat: 60" long, 55" girth, vest: 44" chest, 41" hip, pants: 37" long, 12" ankle opening. Small moth holes in fabric, slight discoloration, coat lining needs repair.Provenance: From the vintage clothing collection of Edward Francis Searles (1841-1920).
