Description Sheraton painted Satinwood two piece bookcase or display cabinet, highly decorated in the style of the 18th century artist, Angelica Kauffman. Top section consists of a parcel-gilt cornice over a single glazed door opening to a green painted interior and velvet lined shelves. Base consists of a flat top with pegs to secure the top section, above one single hidden drawer and delicately reeded and carved tapered gilt legs joined by curved stretchers. 74 1/4" H x 27" W x 16 1/4" D. English, late 19th/early 20th century. Note: Madame Kauffman married the Venetian painter, Antonio Zucchi, who did extensive work for the Adams brothers.
