Eastern Mediterranean, Ca. 1st century BC - 1st century AD. A decorated pottery bowl of very fine detail with a pinkish hue, covered all over in a dark slip that ranges from dark brown to black. The decorated exterior features a band of small abstract figures enclosed by raised borders, followed by a wide band of repeating leaf and fern blades and rosette clusters, emanating from a central disc with rosette at the center that serves as the vessels base. A minor rim chip and some rubbing of the slip, otherwise intact, overall excellent condition.Size: L:87mm / W:120mm ; 155gProvenance: The Hanita and Aaron Dechter Collection, Los Angeles, acquired before 1989.
