Three blue and white kraak porcelain plates, Wanli period, early 17th century, China, All three similarly decorated with a central roundel containing various abstract patterns. The borders with a relief molded pattern of pomegranates and florals. One with a light blue trimmed edge. Not marked but one with an old paper label stuck to the base for antiques dealer A.C. Beeling & Son from Leeuwarden. D 20 cm, Good condition. Some rim fritting and glaze chips but no hairlines or restoration. A few typical manufacturing flaws and irregularities. A dish with the same border design (but different centre pattern) is in the collection of the Rijksmuseum and discussed on page 57 of 'Chinese Ceramics in the collection of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam, the Ming and Qing Dynasties', by C.J.A. Jörg and J. van Campen, 1997.
