A porcelain snuff box with scenes in the manner of Watteau Gilt copper mounted snuff box painted with courtly figures on rocaille reliefs to the outer faces and inside of the lid. The interior gilded (possibly retouched). Unmarked. H 4.3, W 6.9, D 5.2 cm. Attributed to Frankenthal, c. 1770, painted in the manner of Jacob Osterspey. Provenance German private collection. Ovale Tabatière mit Szenen im Watteau-Stil Porzellan, farbiger Aufglasurdekor, Vergoldung, vergoldete Kupfermontierung. Außen umlaufende Parklandschaft mit fein gemalten höfischen Figuren über Rocaillenrelief, ebenso auf Deckel und Boden. Im Innendeckel eine flächenfüllende gleiche Darstellung, die Dose innen vergoldet (retuschiert?). Ohne Marke. H 4,3, 6,9, T 5,2 cm. Frankenthal, zugeschrieben, um 1770, Bemalung in der Art des Jacob Osterspey. Provenienz Deutsche Privatsammlung.
