Ca. 386-534 AD.A well moulded terracotta grey tile with a depiction of a standing Buddha or Bodhisattva wearing a voluminous robe. He has typical stylised features, a mandorla behind. Buddha has a raised right hand, with the palm facing outwards and the fingers downwards while the left arm is held close to the body. Hands are in Abhaya Mudra pose.Size: L:150mm / W:325mm ; 3.72kgProvenance: Property of a North London gentleman; previously acquire on the UK/European art market in the 1980s.
