A Japanese gilt-lacquered cabinet, Meiji period (1868-1912), the double-hinged doors decorated with two eagles in relief, each standing on a pole in a shaped panel, opening to reveal two shelves and five drawers, all above another five drawers decorated with birds in gilt, the panels with birds among pine and bamboo, 89cm wide 47cm deep 121.5cm high Condition Report One door knob missing, keys missing. Chips and losses to edges. Lacquer work with cracks and losses, dents, signs of repair. Brass work dented with some pins missing. Wood stretched with cracks to corners and edges. The back with small holes.
