Large Imari plate in the shape of a chrysanthemum (jap. rinka), Japan, Arita, Edo period (1603-1868), c. 1800, porcelain with underglaze and onglaze painting as well as enamel and gold paint, in the centre a splendid arrangement (ikebana) of peonies and chrysanthemums in a wicker basket on a period-type wooden porch. Wooden veranda, on the rim spiral decoration bands with peonies, plum blossoms, diamond pattern, flower medallions and dragons dynamising in a whirling system, on the reverse peony vine, nearly perfect condition, 45x5,5cm
