Description

和田玉材质。器圆雕一执莲童子，形作大头，上穿方格米字纹开身对襟马夹，下身着肥筒裤，莲花执于双手，呈直立行走状，似在漫步嬉戏的婴孩儿。据载，北宋七夕前后，市民有折采莲花、荷叶的习俗。这在当时的玉器中也有反映，它说明宋代七夕前后小儿执荷游戏的情景。玉童子的出现，是玉器走下神坛，离开王宫皇苑，进入俗世的一个有利说明，也是世俗化过程中十分典型的一种表现形式。
