An exceptionally fine Hereke silk rug. the mihrab with signed cartouche and scrolling flowering vines and palmettes, the spandrels with vases and birds perched on flowering vines, within a meandering vine and palmette border, 84 x 66.5cm.The signature is by the master weaver Avak Shirinian who was one of the famous Hereke Shirinian brothers Avak and Haigaz who were part of the Suadiye (Kocaeli) workshop circa 1960's/1970's.
