台中人，17歲就北上投入攝影創作，1970年代便以其前衛、超現實的風格參與了在台灣攝影史中具有重要地位的「V－10視覺藝術群」。從早期以底片顯影、數位暗房的紀實性攝影，發展至以舞台思維策展的編導式攝影，謝春德透過類舞台空間的故事性敘述，一幕一幕的延展呈現，他的鏡頭從對環境社會的關懷，漸漸聚焦至自觀式的精神探究。
