A mould blown glass bottle Persia, late 11th-13th CenturyA mould blown glass bottle Persia, late 11th-13th Centuryof purple glass and bulbous form with long tapering neck, the body with a moulded design in low relief outlines of three rows of staggered squares between gadrooning, the neck with applied vermicular and spiral trailing 25.7 cm. highThe design of this bottle is unusual, the most common mould-blown decoration being a honeycomb pattern, an example of which is in the Kuwait National Museum (see S. The trailing on the neck of the present lot is also more elaborate than usual.Important Notice to BuyersSome countries e.g., the US, prohibit or restrict the purchase by its citizens (wherever located) and/or the import of certain types of Iranian-origin works.
