BOL D'AUMÔNE COUVERT EN ALLIAGE D'ARGENT PARTIELLEMENT DORÉ ET INCRUSTÉ DE PIERREMongolie, XVIIIe/XIXe siècle A PARCEL-GILT SILVER-ALLOY STONE-INLAID ALMS BOWL AND COVER Mongolia, 18th/19th century The exterior profusely decorated in relief with cartouches enclosing the Eight Buddhist Emblems, bajixiang , alternating with dense foliate lotus sprays, between a band of lotus petal panels above the foot and around the shoulders decorated with Mongolian characters alternating with turquoise and coral inlaid cabochons, all below beaded inverted rim, the base finely incised with a double-vajra, set with a wide-rimmed domed cover similarly decorated with four auspicious emblems below the teardrop shaped openwork finial, the interior rim of the cover with a European embossed mark. 16.2cm (6 3/8in) high.
